    Well said!! Magento, I would call is the first serious open source ecommerce product which has all along had a clear roadmap and a clear revenue strategy.

    I agree with you that Magento has a clear road map and a clear revenue strategy model.

    But as Magento has a clear road map and strategy model, also its competitors has got the same characteristics. The main difference between Magento and the other platforms is in philosophy.

    Magento is marketing oriented, the others are coding and database oriented. That's the main difference.

    But Magento answered with a Open Source model to the thirst of marketing based solution. And Magento showed the international community that closed source software model is outdated.

    Thank you very much for your post and for your link. I read it and it was very interesting and precious in order to deeply understand the benefits of Open Source model over closed source model.

    What do you think about layered navigation features in Magento? Should they empower them and in what direction?
